"Monster Demon Savage Heathen If I'm no hero Maybe I should be a Super Villain"

After a huge complicated and stressful situation, I draw Sam to chill. I tend to keep it simple and only have fun with his outfit or whatever without overthinking compositions and stull like that. I don't think every single artwork should be a masterpiece, but I do think every single one of them should bring you comfort and fun. Outside of a paid work, I mean, because when it's your job it's far from being that simple haha. But when it's your own personal work, you first motive should always be yourself. If I gave a single fuck about people's opinion on what I draw, I wouldn't draw Sam at all and if I wasn't drawing Sam, I wouldn't enjoy drawing this much so I wouldn't draw this much and spend my freetime studying other people's work to improve mine and I wouldn't improve at all. An artist draw what people like, a good artist make people like what they draw.

But anyway, it's been a while since I drew humanoids, way too long. I love them so much and we barely see them lately, unfortunatly, so I wanted to give them some love. The main reason for this fanart is "I wanna draw Sam with either a short or a long coat". I had two sketches for that and while people were more into the short one (which I understand because I have a huge thing for short coat), I thought the long one was more in character so I kept it.

But don't worry short jacket team, I have something for you as well. I'm on a break and I gotta take care of a severly wounded closed one so I don't have much time to draw but I have something for you coming lol Like I said on another post, I also miss working with very saturated colors. I think my color work was a bit more boring lately (at least to me and like I said I'm the first person I should please so I don't really care about people telling me "nooo it's peak"). By the way folks when someone tell you they're not satisfied with their work, the right answer isn't "it's good don't worry", the right move is helping them to find why they're not and how to improve that while reminding them satisfaction doesn't equal skill. You can be very skilled and hate you do, you can do very unskilled and merely starting and absolutly loving what you do and sometimes what people need is to remember that and have a fresh new start, like I did recently. Enjoy~
